Le Château de Strainchamps, it means first of all a succession of small, comfortable and relaxing dining rooms: with painted or wooded ceilings, bourgeois chimneys, beautiful contemporary picture rails are the elements for a sober decor but also cordial, elegant and unpretentious.

      It also means eight personalized bedrooms, so that you can taste the charm of a night in the heart of the Ardennes, it is really restful and relaxing.

      It is finally a three hectares wooded park behind the castle offering a wonderful panorama of the neighbouring countryside. You can go and pick mushrooms or listen to the birds, it is a kind of invitation to a longer walk, on foot or by bike, through the region.
      But the best place to taste the nature is in your plate. The return to true flavours, in the respect of the seasons' rhythm, the choice of quality products developing , next to expensive food, the traditional productions from our region such as smoked ham from our Ardennes, high-class compositions contrasting with flavours, but without useless sophistication, all these principles belong to the Chef and are expressed by a "fresh", original and inventive cooking. He will tell you: a delicious meal is as pleasant as a beautiful painting, but I do not put any dreams in the plates. The cook is first of all a craftsman, someone working with his heart.

      Frans and Paulette Vandeputte are members of the association called Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe, vast family with a two-word philosophy: talent and passion.

      Their common objective: belonging to the flavours', colours' and perfumes' world, to the kingdom of inventive cooking.
